1. Canadian Journal of Undergraduate Research (CJUR)

The Canadian Journal of Undergraduate Research provides an accessible platform for undergraduates to gain experience in academic publishing.  

2. Journal of Political Science

The Journal of Political Studies is one of the longest-running and most highly regarded undergraduate research journals in the country. The JPS is published by the UBC Political Science Student Association in partnership with the UBC Department of Political Science.

3. Hemlock

Hemlock is an online philosophy journal for undergraduate students published at the University of British Columbia. Undergraduates have the opportunity to publish philosophical writing and get publication credit at UBC.

4. The Atlas

The Atlas is a student-run publication at the University of British Columbia, directly supported by the Department of History, the History Students Association, and the Arts Undergraduate Society. Submissions are accepted in the fall/winter and publication occurs in the spring.

5. Undergraduate Journal of Art History

The Undergraduate Journal of Art History & Visual Culture (UJAH) is an annual student journal published by the Department of Art History, Visual Art & Theory (AHVA) at the University of British Columbia. The publication promotes undergraduate research, artwork, and writing in the field of art history and visual culture.

6. Trail Six

Trail Six is the Undergraduate Journal of the UBC Geography Department. It exists to publish in a peer-review academic journal setting, the outstanding writing of undergraduate students in the field of Geography.

7. Ignite

Ignite is the undergraduate journal of the Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice. The student-run initiative offers a site of publication to students at the University of British Columbia.

8. Journal of International Affairs

The UBC  Journal of International Affairs is a student-run, peer- and faculty-reviewed, internationally-distributed undergraduate publication. For twenty-seven years the journal has showcased distinguished papers written by students from a range of faculties and departments.

9. Undergraduate Journal of Psychology

The UBCUJP is an annual, student-run, peer-reviewed journal which seeks to provide a platform for psychology undergraduates at UBC to showcase their research.

10. Sojourners

Sojourners is the first undergraduate, peer- and faculty-reviewed Sociology publication in North America.

For seven years, the journal has showcased exemplary papers written by students with a sociological perspective. Contributing to the journal affords students an invaluable opportunity to have their work published early in their academic careers.

11. The Garden Statuary

The Garden Statuary (TGS) is UBC’s Undergraduate Literary Journal, operated and peer-reviewed by UBC undergraduate students. Embracing a wide range of creative and academic work, the journal publishes: essays on literature and language studies, fiction, poetry, nonfiction, stage/screen play, visual art, photography, musical recordings and short films.

The Seed is the UBC Undergraduate Journal of Canadian Studies.

13. UBC Medical Journal

The University of British Columbia Medical Journal (UBCMJ) is a student-driven academic journal with a goal to engage students in dialogue in medicine. Topic scope ranges from original research and review articles in medicine to medical trends, clinical reports, elective reports and commentaries in the principles and practice of medicine.

14. UBC Pharmaceutical Sciences Student Journal

UBC Pharmaceutical Sciences Student Journal (UBC PSSJ) is the first peer-reviewed, open-access, and student-run pharmacy journal in Canada. Journal topics include lab-based, clinical, pharmacy practice, and pedagogical research related to pharmaceutical science.
